I've been following bits and pieces of advice as to why my ORU is *not*
connecting to my pm3.
To this point it still is not connecting.
I *need* to have this fixed ASAP or I'm going to lose this customer...
Whatever it takes please tell me and it will be done... I've read the docs,
I've re-read the docs... I've talked looked and pulled hair....
I have used the OR Location wizard... it ain't working....
This seems like a very simple operation, what gives?
I'm thinking it has to be something with the location on the ORU. If I
attach to the s1 or s2 port and manually dial the line I am given the IP
207.166.215.91 from my PM3 and the PPP session begins.
Would this not suggest that it is the location?
I just want to be able to dial the PM3 from the ORU and have the PM3 give
it this IP address:
207.166.215.91
Once done, I assume the LAN sitting behind the router (network of
192.168.1.x and netmask of 255.255.255.0) would be able to get out to the net.
This is my location on the ORU:
1ide-gw> show loc speedynet
Location: speedynet Type: Manual
Destination: 207.166.215.91 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Local IP: 207.166.215.91
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, VJ-Comp, Multilink
Group: 18 Max Ports: 1
Idle Timeout: 0 minutes High Mark: 0 bytes
Mtu: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
Username: XXXXXXXXX Password: XXXXXXXXX
Telephone: 5721008
Does that look ok? I'm curious as to why it lists the IP address I'm
trying to get twice (both destination and local IP)?
This is the User profile on the PM3:
pm1> sho user 1edi
Username: 1edi Type: Dial-in Network User
Address: 207.166.215.91 Netmask: 255.255.255.255
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, Compression
MTU: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
pm1>
Does everything look ok with the user settings?
The sho route on the ORU reveals:
1ide-gw> sho route
Destination Mask Gateway Source Flag Met Interface
----------------- ---- -------------------- ------- ---- --- ---------
192.168.1.0 24 192.168.1.1 local NL 1 ether0
0.0.0.0 0 207.166.215.1 local NS 1 Unknown
1ide-gw>
Doesn't this indicate that my eth0 network is on the 192.168.1.x network
and the ether0 will then act as my default gateway... and that the default
gateway is 207.166.215.1 (the cisco router at my office)?
I'm completely open to paying a consulting fee via phone to troubleshoot
and make this work as I can *not* afford to lose this customer.
Really looking for anyone's feedback.
Rather than have you ask for other info, I went ahead and included
everything I thought was relevant below:
Thanks!
