On second thought, this is not exactly what I was talking about.
Doesn't this simply drop the caller if the check item doesn't match (the
caller attempts to negotiate V.90, for example)?

What I want is for the modem to behave like a V.34 (or other configurable
modem properties) modem based on the called-station ID. This way, one
could have a V.34 only pool for older or problematic modems.
