(PM) PM3 Dial Back Troubles

Greetings!

I've been attempting my first go at setting our portmaster 3 up for Dial
Back sessions for dedicated customers. But we seem to be hitting a snag and
I can't find the bugger... I'm just not certain whether it is telco related
or I'm missing something blatantly obvious - something tells me it is the
latter of the two...

Anyway, I have created a location:

>>>BEGIN PASTE<<<

pm1> show location SMB

Location: SMB Type: Manual
Destination: Negotiated Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, VJ-Comp, Analog
Group: 2 Max Ports: 2
Idle Timeout: 0 minutes High Mark: 0 bytes
Mtu: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
Username: karlosa Password: XXXXXXXX
Telephone: 8779194

Dial Script: Send Command Wait for Reply
------------------------------ ----------------------------

--
                 ATDT8778892\r CONNECT
                \r ogin:
                karlosa\r ssword:
                XXXXXXX\r ppp

>>>END PASTE<<<

Which appears to be fitting with the documents I've read through...

We have configured the following port to handle this dial-back location for us:

>>>BEGIN PASTE<<<

pm1> show S40 --------------------- Current Status - ISDN Port S40 ------------------------ Status: IDLE Input: 0 Abort Errors: 0 Output: 558 CRC Errors: 0 Pending: 0 Overrun Errors: 0 TX Errors: 0 Frame Errors: 0 Modem Status: DCD- CTS+ TELCO+ Disconnect:

Active Configuration Default Configuration (* = Host -------------------- --------------------- Can Override) Port Type: Login/Netwrk Login/Netwrk (Dial In & Out) Login Service: PortMaster PortMaster Line Speed: 64000 64000 Hosts: default

Terminal Type: Login Prompt: $hostname login: Idle Timeout: 15 minutes Dial Group: 2 Login Message: CompuWeb (330)-877-8892 Directory No:

>>>END PASTE<<<

When i do a dial from the telnet session I get:

>>>BEGIN PASTE<<<

Starting dial to location SMB using S40 sendthem (VRA8779194) S40: Sending Call Request - 8779194 (VOICE) expect (=DCD=) S40: Received Proceeding S2: Sending Disconnect Request S2: Received Clear Conf (B3 ID:f1) S40: Connection Failed

>>>END PASTE<<<

I'm also able to dial in with the appropriate user and pass and get disconnected then the Portmaster will attempt to call back (able to view the attempt in PMVision). But no go....

Oddly enough I don't hear the phone ring here at the location...

I have the potential to pick up a dedicated customer once I get this solved, preferrably today if possible, I'll be one happy camper...

I feel as though it is something stupid I'm missing and we've reviewd the docs, and reviewed the docs... oh and did I say I reviewed the docs? Hit the help files... searched the archives but nothing seems to relate...

If you need more info feel free to ask I'll provide... if you could possibly throw me a bone on how to get you the info (my sysadmin is out and has been out and I've been the make-shift admin, but so far seem to be fareing well...

By the way, any interest / IRC-ers out there / in starting a Portmaster channel, I've not found any on EF-net.

Thanks a million! -Scott AKA Bozemont
