AFAIK, the clear command only works on alarms. Similarly, the reset
command does not apply to host tables.

I know it's tedious, but I think you're only way out is:

del host foo.bar.com

(where foo.bar.com is one of the hosts that you no longer require to
have in your host table)

If you want to take some of the pain out of the chore, try using
PMVision's command line. It's still not got tab-completion, but at least
you can use the history to save your dinky digits some of the extra work.
