(PM) IBM Aptiva User CAN'T Get Connected.

I have an IBM Aptiva user with the Lucent k56Flex modem that can't get
connected to our PM3 running 3.8 ComOs. He used to be able to get
connected, albeit at SLOW rates so I suggested he upgrade his firmware. He
downloaded and installed version 5.18 of the firmware, and ever since then
he can't connect at all. He is one of our new users, and still has an
account with another provider where he is connecting without a problem at
28.8 to 31.6kbps with the new firmware. I've suggested adding the commas,
but it didn't help a bit. I monitored his connection from here, and our PM3
just isn't able to sync up with his modem. It never even gets to the user
id prompt. Anybody have any suggestions for this one?
