(PM) Non-connects on PM3 w/3.8.2

Since our installation of 3.8.2 on our PM3 we have had a large percentage of
our customers with a variety of modems who are either unable to connect or
do so sporadically. I know that others have as well. My tech (boss) says
that there is a strange sound during the v.90 portion of the handshake. Is
this what others are experiencing?
