Lucent doesn't make the actual modem, but they do develop the code.

And except for Compaq, any "brand" of the LT Win Modem will work with
firmware developed for any other "brand". The latest available firmware is
5.14 (v90/Flex simultaneous support), and you can find links to it and
versions 5.10, 5.09 (v90) and 4.31, 4.28, etc. on my site.
