(PM) remote monitoring

Hi,

Advice sought: I now have a large number of remote sites at which I have
routers and switches etc. that I need to monitor (and fix remotely in the
event of problems). Essentially what I need is a dial-up system at each site
through which I can connect to four serial ports, each of which connects to
a piece of hardware that needs looking after.

I have PM3 experience, so I was wondering if the livingston product range
went down small enough to a unit that would do this job - price is a crucial
factor here.

If theres nothing that would fit the bill, how are folks out there solving
similar problems? I'm also consideringas an alternative to a dedicated box
siting a linux box with a modem and a 4 port serial card at each location,
but thats getting more and more pricey...

Any adice welcomed - if its not related to the livingston option, please
mail me directly rather than via the list. I'll summarise responses to the
list if there is interest.

Thanks,

M.
