I'm using ComOS 3.7.2c3 on my PM3. I've got a customer that has a Winbook
XL laptop with an LT Winmodem in it. I cannot get this thing to connect
using K56Flex. I've hooked a Zoom K56Flex external modem up using the same
phone line, and it connets at 4x000bps, so I know the phone line is fine.

Has anyone else had a problem with LT Winmodems that "say" they are K56Flex
in the documentation? I've tried flashing the modem twice now, once with
the latest firware, and once again with a v.90 supporting firmware (that
the lady at Winbook also told me supported K56Flex, which i'm a little
leary, but perhaps it does make it a dual mode.. who knows). And no matter
what it connects at 31200 consistently with every firmware i've tried.

I just got another call today from a customer with an HP box that has an LT
Winmodem in it as well.. he connects at 26400, which also sounds like v.34
to me. (my zoom connects at 26400 v.34 from home, using K56 I get 42000)

Anyone else had any luck getting an LT Winmodem to connect to a PM3 using
K56Flex?

I haven't tried flashing up to the 3.8b17 version of ComOS yet, and by the
looks of some of the postings in here, It's probably a good idea not to. I
don't have the time to spend on endless TS calls because of protocol
incompatabilites/ComOS bugs. And being a small ISP, we don't have the
resources to dedicate a PM3 for beta testing.. :(

Thanks
Jon
