As far back as I can remember 'beta' has meant 'likely to be unstable'.
The purpose of a beta is to ferret out bugs, and to test new features.
Usually every beta except the final beta has a problem - why is that?
Because the final beta goes to release! You stop the beta when everything
appears to be working.
