Some friends of mine bought a Total Control a few months ago,
their hardware warranty ran out after 90 days, before US West
got around to getting their circuit installed, so now they
have to buy another network management card at $3600 in order
to get the thing working. Their free tech support also ran out
at 90 days so they may have to start paying for tech support
soon. And USR doesn't have a Linux interface so they had to
get an NT box to run the admin GUI.
