Why should they? SNMP is the accepted way of gathering data like this - so
use it. If there is something missing from the PMs SNMP MIB support,
request it - they've stated they intend to continue to expand the SNMP
support in the products.

I think documenting the command interface would be terribly stupid, why
encourage people to use a proprietary interface - subject to being changed
at an time (and it has been) - when there are standards for that kind of
thing?

And if it is that big a deal - telnet+expect.
