(PM) Disconnects with 3Com Modems...

I have a customer that is experiencing sporadic disconnects. This problem
can't be a problem with the portmaster specifically, however I was
wondering if anyone has any other ideas for me. The problem occurs on
two different computers. One is a Gateway PII 266mhz notebook with a
Megahertz 33.6 PCMCIA fax/modem. The other is a Supermicro motherboard
300mhz PII machine with a USR 33.6 internal voice/fax/modem. I had him
adjust his port settings to 38,400 and made sure he had any firmware
updates that were available. The problem got better, but never really
went totally away, but rather just has been somewhat reduced in its
frequency. It is sporadic in nature.

Any ideas are appreciated.
