No. There is always 23B+D on each. HOWEVER, instead of being independent
you have:
23B+Primary-D
23B+Backup-D
All of the signalling is normally carried on the Primary, but the Backup
will take over if it is lost. So what, 2 lines, same number of ports.
Well, NFAS can run up to 20 PRIs (possibly more - I've heard it is different
with Nortel switches). And if you have that many, you certainly want the
reliability of a backup D channel.
