LCP_ECHO_REQUEST/LCP_ECHO_REPLY is used for monitoring link integrity. You
will see this on idle links and usually checking the viability and integrity
of the link.

hope this helps,

Subject: (PM) LCP decoding question

Any idea what the following decoded/dring-ed 0x51 output means? This is
after "Connection established" but no response from other end. Again,
this is the Cisco 761. Now we've upgraded it to 4.2(1). Only ting
changed was "set ppp multilink off".
