(PM) auth for telnet

If you set up a PM2E(10|20|30) port for telnet access (device /dev/network
and service_device telnet ####), is there any way to provide
username/password authentication to that port? We wouldn't want just
anybody to be able to telnet to the port without authentication, so if
there's a way to auth via radius or user tables I'd appreciate it if
someone would point me in the right direction.
