(PM) "Portmaster" service_dev

Hi All, just a quick question. I don't have my manuals handy, and I'm not
sure this would be in there anyway (yes, I know the manuals are on the
web page).

I've got an office router down in Ecuador I'm configuring for someone, and
it's been keeping the link up (pretty expensive concept down there!).

S0 and W1 were both set to Portmaster login service.

If I recall from the list, the portmaster will try to contact in.pmd on
the remote machine every once in a while if this is set. A ptrace
verified this behavior.

The symptoms, as they're described to me, are that the portmaster will
disconnect due to inactivity (10 minute idle time is configured), and then
"immediately" bring the link back up.

Apparently, RIP and in.pmd traffic don't reset the idle timer (so the line
does disconnect like it should), but does the outbound in.pmd traffic
bring the link back UP if it finds that it's down? That seems to be the
behavior I'm seeing.

I've only got access to this OR til 10am tomorrow, so any quick responses
will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
