Re: (PM) Routing Problems (fwd)

Are these addresses in use when you try to ping them? If the address
isn't assigned when you try pinging it, you'll end in a loop. When the
address is assigned, the PM3 creates a route in it's routing table:

pm3-2B01245-bvd> show route
Destination Mask Gateway Source Flag Met Interface
----------------- ---- -------------------- ------- ---- --- ---------
0.0.0.0 0 207.7.40.225 local NS 1 ether0
207.227.46.227 32 207.227.46.227 local HLC 1 ptp37
207.227.46.233 32 207.227.46.233 local HL 1 ptp6
207.227.46.213 32 207.227.46.213 local HL 1 ptp46
<SNIP>
207.7.40.224 27 207.7.40.226 local NL 1 ether0

When a packet arrives at your 2er for your /27 and /28, it gets forwarded
to your PM3. Because the PM3 doesn't have any entry for this network
(assuming the PM3 hasn't assigned it yet), the PM3 forwards the packet to
the the PM3's default route - the 2er which is going to send it right
back.

This will probably work once users start dialing in. If you want to test
it (from your earlier posts I assume you still haven't got PRI's), you
could configure line0/line1 on the PM3 for fractional T1, and add the
first channel of line0 to channel group 1, and the first channel of line1
to it's channel group 1. Then a crossover T1 cable (1 - 4,2 - 5) between
line 0 and line 1. When you reboot, you'll now have w0 and w24.
Configure these with your new addresses, give w0 w24's address as a
destination and vice-versa and you should be set. Not very useful, but a
lot of fun!

You'll have to excuse my rambling - only 2 hours sleep in the last 48.
