I'm certainly not advocating that Lucent push code out the door before its
ready, but I'm hoping its gonna be reasonably close. Another concern,
that I'm gonna have is what is the interoperability situation? Ie, will
the new code support K56Flex and V.90 simultaneously? If not, this will
be really bad news as some modem manufacturers will probably drag their
feet, if they offer an upgrade at all... I don't thing the TC code is
out yet for V.90. But I'd really like to avoid having yet another
competitive disadvantage just because we decided not to buy any 3Com
equipment and stick with Lucent only.
Lucent, please don't ship the code before it's time. But by the same
token, do what you can to get it out there soon.
