(PM) dial-up PPP question

Hi all

recently I have be setting up our first Portmaser and doing testing.
During testing I have found that if I dial up I connect fine get
assinged appropriate IP #'s, etc. and all is fine I can ping, trace,
etc. fine but after trying to download a file or something fairly large
all IP connectivity is lost (cannot even ping the Portmasters IP #)
Any pointers would be apperciated.
