This depends, *if* a new standard included inter operability with all old
non standards then they would be immediatly able to use the new standard
modems to connect.
I heard such rumors about the V.90. Now I have no idea if this is true but
I know I heard it.
Now I think the real question was:
What existing modems are compatible with V.90?
IS x2 and K56Flex modems going to work with V.90?
