I need a little help with Dial-in IPX from a Win95 client to an NT
Server
The 95 client is running OSR2 with IPX bound to the Dial up adapter
with a frame type of 802.3 and a network number of AAABBBCC. Below
are all of my portmaster settings. Netbios is set on on the portmaster.
I am authenticating to the portmaster. I can dial in an establish an
IPX session fine. The problem is I cannot map a drive to the server.
A net use statement to the server from the client produces a Error 55 -
The Specified Resource is not Available.... The problem is it looks
like everyone can see each other. The server is running
NT 4.0, SP3, IPX, Netbios
for IPX and a SAP agent - again 802.3. The server and the portmaster
have an external network number of 00000003. The server has an
internal network number of 0000000A. I was orginally letting the
portmaster assign the IPX number for the client through a FFFFFFFE
entry in the users portmaster profile, but using this since it was
dynamically assigned by the portmaster did not let me assign the
network number to the 95 client and I had heard of routing problems
if the 95 client used the default 0 ipx number. The server name is
WARF and the portmaster is bfco-2er. The trace below is clean since
there are only three devices on the net, the client, the server and
the portmaster.
Any help would be appreciated.
