In order to beat the BRI tarrif, we're trying to dial out to a customer.
We are of course using a PRI, whereas they have a BRI. PM3 on
our end, OR-U on theirs. Just to let you know, Yes, I can dial out; in
fact this is how I administer the customer's OR-U, attach to a port
on the PM3 and dial in to theirs (clearly this is not a PPP connection,
which is what I'm aiming for).
OK, some config info:
The ports on the PM3 are configured as follows:
Active Configuration Default Configuration (* = Host
-------------------- --------------------- Can Override)
Port Type: TwoWay/Netwrk TwoWay/Netwrk (Dial In & Out)
(Security)
Login Service: Telnet@1001 Telnet@1001
Device Service: Telnet@8014 Telnet@8014
Line Speed: 64000 64000
Hosts: default
Host Device: Network
Terminal Type: vt100
Login Prompt: $hostname login:
Dial Group: 1
Login Message: PremierNET, Inc. (502) 746-9535, surf@premiernet.net
Directory No: 5027469651
And the ports on the OR-U:
Active Configuration Default Configuration (* = Host
-------------------- --------------------- Can Override)
Port Type: TwoWay/Netwrk TwoWay/Netwrk (Dial In & Out)
(Security)
Login Service: PortMaster PortMaster
Device Service: PortMaster PortMaster
Line Speed: 64000 64000
Hosts: default
Host Device: /dev/network
Terminal Type:
Login Prompt: $hostname login:
SPID: 50278267190101
Directory No: 5027826719
Dial Group: 2
The PM3 has the following location:
Location: hbd Type: Manual
Destination: Negotiated Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, Compression,
Multilink
Group: 1 Max Ports: 1
Idle Timeout: 0 minutes High Mark: 0 bytes
Mtu: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
Username: premiern Password: -------------
Telephone: 7826719
The OR-U has the following user:
Username: premiern Type: Dial-in Network User
Address: 205.229.224.193 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, Compression
MTU: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
Port Limit: 2 Idle Timeout: 0 minutes
Just to provide a little more information (as if this weren't a
rather large email already); We are currently just having the
OR-U dial into us. This is working fine and I will provide the
configuration we're using:
Radius is setup as follows:
hbdlaw Password = "UNIX"
User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-MTU = 1500
Framed-Address = 255.255.255.255
Framed-IP-Netmask = 255.255.255.252
With the OR-U location:
Location: isp Type: Manual
Destination: Negotiated Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Protocol: PPP Options: Quiet, Compression,
Multilink
Group: 2 Max Ports: 2
Idle Timeout: 0 minutes High Mark: 0 bytes
Mtu: 1500 Async Map: 00000000
Username: hbdlaw Password: ------
Telephone: 7465998
Yes I do intend to be using a 30 bit netmask. For now I would be
happy to get a simple point to point.
So here's what happens:
Boone> set console on
Boone> set debug isdn on
Enabling ISDN debugging
Boone> dial hbd -x
Starting dial to location hbd using S15
sendthem (CRN7826719)
S15: Sending Call Request - 7826719
expect (=DCD=)
S15: Received Proceeding
S15: Received Connect - B21
=DCD=got it
Chat Succeeded - Starting PPP
S15: Received Disconnect Normal Clearing (B21 ID:8010)
S15: Sending Disconnect Request
S15: Received Clear Conf (B21 ID:8010)
There's probably more information for me to provide. Let me
know and I will be happy to give it.
I would appreciate any advice here.
