I have just experienced the same problem. 6 or 7 modems in the down
state. I set mxx off and then set mxx on, seems to have worked as they
are answering now.

Subject: (PM) Problem with PM3 modems always DOWN (fwd)

Once upon a time Nicky Smith shaped the electrons to say...
>PM3 with five 10-modem cards. I am having problem with modems
>in DOWN status and users are still connecting. I have 'set M?? off'

I take it you mean still connecting to other modems.

>and 'set M?? on' a number of times with no effect. The only thing
>that fixes this DOWN status is 'reboot', but this is not a good
>solution when I have 40+ users online.

Definitely contact support. This is the first report of something like
this I've seen under 3.7.2 (unless the other email I just responded to
proves to be the same thing). So we'll want to get info on this.
