Re: (PM) Can't connect PM2e to OR-U

Can you normally dial another ISDN number from that line including the
area code and prefix without a '1' or '9' in front? Try just attaching to
a port on pm2 and dialing out to the OR. Does it connect? If this is a
Centrex line (or whatever your local telco calls it) and you are dialing
outside of the Centrex, you will many times have to use a '9' to get out.

If the OR is on the SAME Centrex then you should most likely be dialing
just the last four digits (although this is not always the case, it is
about 85% of the time).

The reason the PM2 is trying a 56Kbps call is because the first attempt
(at 64K) failed. This is a fallback so that things will still work when
using facilities that do not support end-to-end 64K. The PM assumes since
the first attempt failed that was why.
