Reminds me somewhat of a Datacomm Magazine review of access servers about
a year ago which said the Ascend MAX outperformed all competitors by a
WIDE margin (the PM3 wasn't out yet I don't think). The *very* small
print (which wasn't in the version posted on Ascend's site) was that the
MAX began to suck terribly as you approached 48 modems ;) And the test
also didn't apparently use "real-world" data streams.

Thus, I tend to think that the the only "real" test of access equipment is
my own opinion 8-)
