I was curious about this...so I took my PM3 and set up line0 as a
point-to-point T1 to a Cisco router using AMI SF. I then set up line1 as
a T1 going to a frame switch.

Some interesting things happened. When configured as B8ZS/ESF,
everything ran great. As soon as I changed it over to AMI, it wouldn't
run. I continually tweaked settings and found that the link would come
up with my CSU set to AMI/SF and 64k channels!! As soon as I moved it
over to 56k channels, it would fall apart. Now for the fun part. When I
was running 64k channels with AMI and SF, I continually saw excess
zero's and far end alarms on my CSU. The PM3 reported bi-polar
violations and loss of sync. I tried every possible combination and
cannot get the link to come up and run without errors.
