Once upon a time Hirokimi Hidaka shaped the electrons to say...
>We use quite number of PM3s here in Japan and we do not consider them as
>stable ones nor reliable ones YET. Livingston has been working very hard
>for better connectivity and stability at the moment and I believe that
>they will release a new version of ComOS.

Just to add to this - the issues experienced in Japan are primarily
only in Japan. Each country has variances in dominant modems, line
quality, siginalling, etc. I sit right next to the engineer who is
pointman on the Japanese modem issues, so we've talked quite a bit
about it. We can't even get them to happen in the US, we needed a testbed
in Japan to troubleshoot them.

Same thing with some of the issues for Europe - they are only occurring
in Europe (or areas therein).

So you need to be careful when applying reports from other countries to
your situation. That's the basic point.

As for the Japan issues - I understand we've been making good progress
on determining the causes and developing fixes for each issue in turn.

We have the most experience with North American issues. K56flex was
released here before overseas, and there is a larger user base. So that
is the most mature base.
