Let's say you have the subnet of 192.168.10.64/27 set aside for a dialup
router:
Framed-Address = 192.168.10.65
Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.224
No Framed-Route is necessary, ONLY as long as you have set the
PM3:
set user-netmask on
This allows user profiles with non host (32 bit) masks to have
those netmasks be asserted on the port they connect to.
If 'user-netmask' is off (which it is by default), all users
regardless of whether they are dialup workstations or routers,
the ports they connect to will only have a netmask of 32 bits
= 255.255.255.255
routing table entry with 32 mask:
192.168.10.65 32 192.168.10.65 local HL 1 ptpX
(all other hosts are abandoned... )
(only in this case will a Framed-Route rescue this situation - see below)
routing table entry with 27 mask:
192.168.10.64 27 192.168.10.65 local NL 1 ptpX
(all hosts are reachable...)
(below)
So, lastly if you had to force all dialin user accounts to establish
a session with 32 bit netmask, you could set the following Framed-Route:
(post 3.5 ComOS)
Framed-Route = "192.168.10.64/27 192.168.10.65 1"
(hope that's right!)
