(PM) 3.3.3 -> 3.7.2 too steep?

Is 3.3.3 to 3.7.2 a drastic upgrade? Before upgrading my portmasters, I
read the various release notes. The release notes for 3.7.2 seemed to
indicate that you could directly upgrade from any revision above 3.0.4,
providing you had the latest PMConsole. While reading through the
archives, I noticed someone talking about making incremental upgrades to
avoid corruption of ComOS and the conf data. (oops).

One thing I did notice, after upgrading one PM, was that the idle-timeouts
on about every other port were set from 20 minutes to 20 seconds. There
has also been a rise in disconnect complaints since then, but I can't seem
to put my finger on the problem.

Is there any way to check if my ComOS or confdata is corrupted aside from
visually showing my settings?
