(PM) too fast irx?

I am having trouble with an IRX-111 running 3.5f (old I know but it
has worked fine up until now). I have a 56K frame relay connection
from PacBell and am using a BAT SU-56K CSU.

My connection periodically drops out for periods of minutes to hours -
PacBell claims that I am "sending too much data" which causes their
switch to drop the connection. Now if I do a "show s1" I am seeing
some truly incredible numbers - like 20K BYTES per second being
shipped out. At least when I installed my IRX a few years back, the
only option was for external clocking, which I assume means that the
data is clocked off of a signal that PacBell is providing. It still
seems to be setup for external clocking.

Even odder is that the traffic measurements from the ethernet are
nowhere near any of the numbers.

Oh, and the last thing I note is that I am getting *many* aborts and
CRCs. Approximately every 3 minutes or so (it's not dead on
consistent) I get an abort. At the rate od 2-3 per hour I get CRCs.

I called Livingston and have been waiting for several days for a
callback - so I am appealing to all the experts on this list - can
some kind soul suggest a solution or what to try next?

Thanks!
