Unlike some vendors we don't do the release o' the week/day/hour. Mainly
because if you step back and look at things in perspective we have
extremely few bugs that need fixing in any given release. So we don't
need to churn out patch levels.
When we have something solid to release, we release it. There was what,
six months between 3.5c5 and 3.7? Abnormally long, but it was time needed
to get K56flex and CT1 working. And we probably could have waited a bit
more on 3.7 but there was so much pressure we released it - and got burned
with modem issues.
There are still some issues being worked on - reboots, some modem issues,
a few cosmetic things, etc. So there may be a 3.7.2cx or 3.7.3 before 3.8.
It depends on what comes together and if it is enough for a new release.
3.8 is a major revision in many ways, a lot of core changes. So we're
taking a lot of care with development and testing. Last time we rushed
a major rev we got 3.7 - I doubt anyone really wants a repeat of that.
I don't, to be sure.
>Livingston will release a new ComOS when they have something new to add.
