We have a PM3 installed since about 1 month with 2 CT1 giving us 48
channels. We've got the COMOS 3.7.2c2 in it.
Most of our customer are connecting at speed like 26400 or even worst at
24000. Many of them are telling us that they have a K56Flex modem. We also
did check with them the version of code in their modem. Some are more
recent than 1.009 some dont but almost every one are telling us that they
do K56 with other ISP.
When we tell them to put some coma after the phone number they get
connected at 28800 but rarely over that. Also there are few of them able to
connect at 31200. We are not sure now if the PM3 is as good as the sales
rep said! We also have a Total Control fully loaded with 2 PRI and I even
connect at 19200 all the time on it with my thinkpad (equiped with a 14,400
bps) and I do transfert file at 1.9Kbytes/sec all the time but I cant say
the same for the PM3. All our customer with X2 are flying (at least they
try ;-) )on the net but so far we only did connect 1 time with Kflex at a
poor 40000.
Am I missing something? I've read that many of you out there are having
almost the same problem. Does someone can tell me the FINAL STORY once for
all.
Just one last thing, at the beginning we were having a PM2er and allways
been satisfied with it, when we came to buy the Total Control, i didn't
like the Idea since US Robotics is not so friendly when it come to support
and I have always had good answer from Livingston. I was please when we did
receive our PM3 but now I dont know what to think about it. I'm a little
bit disapointed of the performance.
