Heya,

I was speaking to one of our telco providers when they mentioned the
subject of PRI interface ID's on some new lines we may be getting. Here
is a snippet of the email from the telco:

I'm curious to find out how many of your associates have PRIs configured
as National ISDN-2 interfaces.

For those with PRI's using National ISDN-2 are they familiar with the "Interface ID" parameter? A unique Interface ID ranging from 0 to 127 is required for each PRI following the National ISDN-2 standard. Each PRI's interface ID must match at both the Local Exchange Carrier's Central Office (in our case Lucent 5E) and the CPE equipment (in your case Livingstone). This Interface ID really comes into play with NFAS but I'm told it is also a requirement with FAS.

In a Custom PRI interface arrangement such as 5E or DMS100 the Interface ID is assumed to be 0 and is normally not a configuration parameter on the CPE equipment. These custom PRI interfaces do not support NFAS.

Let me know what you find.

/me looks at Megazone.

Is this even an issue ?? I dont think so, but stranger things...
