(PM) Initial PPP Negotiation on PM3

We have been experiencing problems with some modem connections. It
appears that the initial PPP negotiation does not happen correctly and
the Portmaster (running 3.7.2 with K56Flex modems) thereafter translates
the PPP stream as terminal login attempts.

Is it possible to disable dial up terminal login and allow the PPP
negotiation to retry? Any ideas why come times the initial PPP
negotiation fails and the PM then assumes a telnet type session?
