Hey all...

S0 54000 M0 ptp0 Netwrk ESTABLISHED 352400 1733914 0

54K here is Sydney AUS with our testing consistantly with most modems ... =)

One problem we are seeing with a couple of modem brands though ...

The retrain can be a killer - up to a few seconds .. sometimes 5-10 seconds.

Just on Linux with ppp open and a telnet session .. the whole thing
freezes/stops etc every so often ... I am guessing that this is when the
retrain is happening .. as I check when the terminal un freezes and see
the speed reported on the pm3 has gone up or down sometimes.

With a few different brand of modems running the latest k56 code this was
happening consistantly every 10-20 seconds and the pause would last 1-5
seconds. Anyone have any ideas or solutions to this ?

Trying to lock the modem down with an init string containing
'AT+MS=56,1,300,42000', or thereabouts, to lock modems down doesnt really stop
this .. it just tells the modem the min max connect speeds and to use 56k etc.

Also .. anyone at Livingston working on the "Quake" problem ?

Regards,
