(PM) PPP Lag Problem?

I have 5 PM3s with 4MB RAM running ComOS 3.7.2
I have 1 PM2E-30 equip with analog modems running ComOS 3.7.2 w/4MB RAM

I have noticed since the upgrade to 3.7.2 there is a packet lag in a PPP
session that is very annoying. The way to reproduce this problem is to
connection via PPP, then use a telnet client and get into your favorite
vt100 shell or something. Pull up and after a while start typing. You
will notice that at times your position is one character behind, when you
type the next character, the previous one shows up, etc. But, if you
wait for a few seconds, that character will finally show up.

We have reproduced this problem with several modem types, Sportster, Mega-
hertz and Hayes Accura, internal, external and PCMCIA. It does not
seem to be specific to the PM3, it also effects PM2s running ComOS 3.7.2.

I'm just wondering if anyone else out there can reporduce this problem.
Is it quite possibly packet lag? I have not seen this problem before
3.7.2.

I'm typing this mesage right now in a telnet client connected using a Hayes
Accura 56k to our analog lines with Sportsters to our PM2E30 right now and
I appear to be behind one character in my type. (and yes, we have tried
other telnet clients as well)
