Actually, if your proxy can handle it this scheme will work. Given that
Jacob's example port was 3128, he is almost certainly using Squid, and
Squid can do transparent proxying. Check out
http://squid.nlanr.net/Squid/FAQ/FAQ-5.html#ss5.8 for specific
instructions on how to do it.
As to the original question, you won't get anything out of Livingston
about this unless you sign an NDA. Does that answer the question? :-)
