Like all Acer modems, it is a rockwell rpi modem. The only thing is, and
the reason it is able to call in to the PM3 and get Flex is that Acer
never released a modem using beta code. Some of them out there are using
the 1.002 code and others are using the 1.003 code. I haven't seen any
problem with them on either a PM3 or on an Ascend max. Not bad for a
cheap modem (side not, their 33.6 modem was one of the best modems i have
ever owned).
