I believe it has to do with the fact that Livingston uses a non standard
extension. netscape or your browswer does not recognize the extension and
is not sure what the mime type is so it assumes its ascii.
It SHOULD download it properly if you go to the ftp site, hold down on the
shift key and click the mouse button (in nutscrape).
OR you could add the Livingston extensions as mimetypes if you really
wanted to get silly.
