Id check the INIT strings under NT versus win95 at the modem level to
make sure you are taling apples/apples. That doesnt make sense at a
physical level. Must be in the driver then. I say, do what works.

Did you check their website to see if they had any informational or check
software? You cant do an ati(something)? And windows cant tell you?

PPP compression? Probably you are referring to Van Jacobsen's header
compression. Its JUST header compression. Id let the modems handle the
error control and compression myself. Not sure how this will change with
the ability to do stac on async ports. Its okay to do VJ and stac at the
same time BTW.
