Is the PM operational? When we see this it is usually at or just before
the point where the PM2 with 5BRI will stop syncing with the switch and
will require a reboot.

At any rate, I've never gotten a full explanation on the "Partial" command,
but the only hint I got was that that link is "partially" up. Nobody had a
clue what the numbers meant. I PERSONALLY think that it is a major bug
where something has clobbered memory all over the place. That's certainly
what those numbers look like.

As far as ComOS version, etc. I've seen it on every version since the 5BRI
come out. I don't think I've seen it on 3.5, but the PM2 with 5BRI hang ups
still happen at about the same frequency. For example, in the last week
we've had a lot of lightning causing the BRIs to go up and down horribly.
After every storm, we've had to REBOOT the PM2 because it wouldn't resync
with the switch: DCD- CTS+ TELCO+ NT1+ but still "NO SERVICE" plus a debug
on the D channel shows NO NO NO activity at all - dead. I've had BellSouth
on the line at the same time and they've confirmed with a line trace that
there was NO activity coming from the PM.

I've had trouble tickets open and closed in the last year on this and
Livingston can't seem to stop it... the normal response is that the switch
is doing testing or something on the line (tho' in my case they definitely
are not, but I have had some noisy lines). This is the classic finger
pointing problem. I'm looking forward to moving to PM3s to get away
from this unsolvable Portmaster 5BRI bug!

On the other hand, other people have ZERO problems with them. Perhaps it
is a protocol mis-match with the 5ESS switch after so many errors/problems
on the line - that's the only switch I've ever seen anyone report this
problem with (but there's DEFINITELY a problem).

Later.
