Once upon a time Oystein Homelien shaped the electrons to say...
>Does anyone know if the PM sends PW_STATUS_ALIVE accounting messages like

We do not.

>Ciscos do, or does it still only send _START and _STOP messages? If it

We do this.

>pass the verification checks. Then we get a PW_STATUS_START accounting
>start message for that same session-id, but we never get a PW_STATUS_STOP
>accounting stop message.

This will happen if the session is VERY short. Like an immediate drop.

>This surely must be a flaw in ComOS. I'd like to see it handled in one of

You could view it that way. It's just the way it is. They get it - then
the PPP subsystem realizes they are trying MP and are over limit, and the
session is slaughtered before it finishes negotiation. So no STOP gets
generated with a time of 0.

I believe that is the general case. If a session has a 0 time, STOP is
not sent.
