The first flash chips from Intel had 100,000 write cycles if I remember
correctly. Later releases were supposed to have much more.

If your user connects 10 times per day, the flash should last at
least 10,000 days, or about 27+ years... Not a problem.

Although the delay in erasing the sector with configuration might
be a problem. It takes a LONG time to erase flash (1 second +/-).
At least with the Intel and AMD chips I used to use...
