After a quiet week with the new modems installed, after this
weekend reports of spontaneous disconnects have been cropping up. I
haven't been able to reproduce it myself, but sure enough the logs are
showing lots of disconnects and reconnects. The cause is reported as
simply a dropped carrier. I have a feeling these new modems aren't as
noise tolerant as the old ones were. The v.8bis tone seems to be
affecting a few people as well.
