Can one suppress breaks on PM11 powerup?

I'm using a PM11 for a network based console on several Sun
workstations/servers. This works very slick, except I can't
seem to figure out how to suppress the break signals that the
PM11 generates on powerup (possibly during diagnostic phase?).
There are two possibilities I see:
1. Change the PM11 to avoid generation of the breaks on powerup.
- I know from bench testing a 16550(A) that a UART itself
does *not* generate a break on power up (verified with an
oscilloscope),
- this would probably involve changing ComOS (2.4?) which is no
longer supported (with respect to new features).
2. Change the Suns (Sparc10, 20, 1000) so they ignore break
- can be done on a E3000 class or higher (keyswitch position),
- don't know if it can be done on the older Sparc 10's and 20's.
Does anyone have input on this? I don't seem to be able to find
anything specific in either the Livingston or Sun FAQs.
TIA
...Al
