The ISP I work for started with Xyplex terminal servers and the PM3 is
the first Livingston product I have used, so I don't really know much
about the capabilities of any of your other units. :-)

Okay, well I found a tech note on Livingston's web site that said how to
setup a "reverse terminal server", but it doesn't seem to work. I did
the following:

set c0 service_device telnet 6001
set c0 device dialout
set c0 modem on
set c0 rts on
set c0 xon off
save c0
reset c0

and I could not connect to it. I thought this would let me telnet to
port 6001 on the PM3 and talk to what was plugged into it, but the PM3
refused connections. I also tried to attach to the port, but that
didn't work either. The port is always in the USERNAME state (which is
why I can't attach to it I guess). Here is how it looks:

----------------------- Current Status - Port C0 ---------------------------
Status: USERNAME
Input: 1398 Parity Errors: 0
Output: 1619 Framing Errors: 1
Pending: 0 Overrun Errors: 0
Modem Status: DCD- CTS+

Active Configuration Default Configuration (* = Host
-------------------- --------------------- Can Override)
Port Type: Login Device
Login Service: PortMaster PortMaster
Baud Rates: 9600 9600,2400,1200
Databits: 8 8
Stopbits: 1 1
Parity: none none
Flow Control: RTS/CTS RTS/CTS
Modem Control: off on
Hosts: default

Host Device: Network
Terminal Type:
Login Prompt: $hostname login:

Even when I change the configuration and reset the port, the active
configuration never changes.

Another thing I noticed is that if I try to change DTR Idle, I get the
following:

Command> set c0 dtr_idle off
Error: DTR Idle setting must be on or off

All of this is with ComOS 3.7 on a PM3.
