On the USR TC Dual Analog, Courier, and Sportster modems, when the S13
Register, Bit 0 is 1, the modem will "Reset when DTR drops". The modem
command "at&d3" does not exist for a Sportster and the manuals for the
other modems are not handy to check but I suspect they don't have it either.
On a Supra 14.4 and 28.8 Fax Modem, the command "at&d3" will "Perform soft
reset upon ON-to-OFF transition of DTR).
So, "different strokes for different modems" ;-)
