I have a Linux box and can attach a modem on my PM-2e-30 via
"telnet pm.myhost.domain port_number". The modem is ZyXEL-1496E. The port
is set as "twoway". All incoming calls are ok - no problem, but when I use
"cu" command or "uucp" (using tcp port), I have really weird situation.
The modem says OK,
starts to work fine. I can dial easily, run AT commands.. But in a few
minuts SEND and RECEIVE lights start to blink so fast, my screen will full
of garbage (the garbage is nothing but reproduction of last state of
the screen million times) and the connection eventually will stop. I
thought the problem is in port settings, played with speeds - nothing
helped. I replaced the modem thinking the problem is in it - nothing.
When I run UUCP - it starts to send/receive and then the same picture
appears: in a minute send/receive lights blink so fast and then the
connection hangs..
Does anybody know what to do in this case ? Can I use same port for
incoming and outgoing calls as well ??
Best wishes and thanks for any hints...
