Two monkeys with a case of tin cans and a ball of string could beat
BellSouth on service, IMHO. Twice last week all of our PRIs and our
Frame Relay were cut off - once for 6 hours and once for about 5
minutes. Monday night they knocked a cable loose (but not off, so it
didn't trigger any alarms) from a card cage and then burned out a card
trying to figure out what was wrong. Neither the cable nor the cards
have any kind of locking system (friction is all that holds them in).
Tuesday afternoon, they disconnected the cable again while trying to
wrap some wire around it to keep it from coming off!
Of course, Wednesday I get a flyer at home for BS's Internet service.
"24 hour a day/7 day a week toll-free expert help". Yeah, right! That
is, unless they are doing all of this simply to discredit the local ISPs
so people switch to BellSouth. I wonder what their tech-support tells
people when crummy phone lines are probably to blame for connection
problems? :-)
